Strengthening Tribal Sovereignty through a IV-D (Child Support) Program
This workshop will provide a brief overview of those sections of 45 CFR 309 (Funding for Tribal Child Support Programs) that have a significant impact on the judicial branch of Tribes, from a Tribal, Federal and State perspective. The workshop will address how a IV-D Program can strengthen Tribal sovereignty and how the IV-D Program can financially support these efforts. Finally, this workshop will explore political and jurisdictional issues that exist between Tribes and States, as they pertain to the delivery of IV-D Program services, and possible solutions.
