National American Indian Court Judges Association

The National American Indian Court Judges Association (NAICJA) is a non-profit organization primarily devoted to the support of American Indian and Alaska Native justice systems through education, information sharing and advocacy. The Association adopted Articles of Incorporation in 1969 and received federal non-profit tax status under section 501(c)(3) in 1973. Its membership is primarily judges, justices and peacemakers serving in tribal justice systems. NAICJA is governed by written Association By-Laws. Management and direction of the Association is carried out by an elected Board of Directors. The Association periodically issues Annual Reports.

The mission of the Association, as a national representative membership organization, is to strengthen and enhance tribal justice systems. NAICJA's objectives and purposes include the following:

To foster the continued development, enrichment and funding of tribal justice systems as a visible exercise of tribal sovereignty and self-government.
To provide continuing education for tribal judges and tribal justice staff members in order to promote and enhance the operation of the tribal judiciary.
To further the public knowledge and understanding of tribal justice systems.
To establish and maintain a forum for the dissemination of information concerning issues impacting tribal justice systems throughout the United States.
To encourage and assist Tribal officials to support educational programs in an effort to serve the purposes and objectives of the Association.
To conduct generally any and all research and educational activities for the purposes of promoting the affairs and achieving the purposes and objectives of the Association.
To secure financial assistance and support for the advancement of said purposes and objectives.

This year's conference, entitled "Honoring Justice, Respecting Tradition" is being held in Choctaw, Mississippi at the Silver Star Hotel and Casino, Pearl River Resort, http://www.pearlriverresort.com on October 15 - 17, 2007. The NAICJA conference is an annual event drawing approximately 100-200 tribal court judges and administrators each year.

Vendor Exposition

The exhibition will allow Tribal Court Judges and Court Administrators to see your products and/or services first hand. This is a wonderful opportunity for marketing your product/service and, at the same time, to provide our attendees with a chance to meet with you in-person. This is one of the very few forums where so many different tribal courts and the people who make purchasing and contract decisions will be in one spot. It's a great way to make contacts. Attendees will visit the exhibits during a.m. and p.m. breaks, meal breaks and throughout the conference at their leisure. In order to encourage attendance and interaction, we intend to provide each exhibitor with raffle tickets to give out for door prizes. Attendees will receive a raffle ticket for each exhibit they visit. The more vendors participants visit, the more chances of winning a door prize they will have. Door prizes will be drawn for and awarded at the conference luncheon.

Fees and Deadlines

We are charging a nominal fee for companies and organizations that wish to participate. The fee is $475.00 per organization. This fee provides a standard admission to all conference breaks and refreshments for one individual.

Also, we ask that you provide promotional materials (examples from last year's exhibit included polo shirts, t-shirts, portfolios, a palm pilot, CD cases, etc.) as door prizes (we will announce each sponsoring organization as the door prizes are awarded). Please let us know what you would like to donate and the quantity of items.

We hope that you will be able to join us for this very exciting Conference and Vendor exposition in Seattle. The registration deadline is September 24, 2007. Once you have signed up as an exhibitor, you will be contacted via email to determine any needs your organization may have. The presentation halls will provide space for vendors, organizations and exhibitors. Exhibit space is available on a limited basis.

We have secured the government rate of $60.00 per night at the Pearl River Resort Silver Star Hotel and Casino.
