Every year for the past 39 years, the National American Indian Court Judges Association has held its annual meeting and judges training conference. Our conference is the oldest national tribal judicial conference of its kind. In these challenging financial times, we are proud to announce that our 2008 conference will be held in Green Bay, Wisconsin, at the beautiful Radisson Hotel & Conference Center on October 20th-23rd, 2008. For the past 39 years, NAICJA has conducted its annual conference to improve and enhance tribal justice systems and strengthen tribal sovereignty. Our conferences would not have been possible without the generosity of sponsors making contributions to help us cover our expenses. We do not receive any federal money for our conference but rely on tribes and people like you to provide donations through sponsorships.
Again, as in years past, we call upon you to help us this year as we prepare to hold our 39th Annual Conference. Our theme this year is "Strengthening Tribal Justice Systems by Making Peace." This year's conference will be unique in that we are combining our conference with the 2nd Annual Peacemaking Gathering/Conference. Our theme represents a challenge to renew our traditional justice systems such as peacemaking and explore other traditional forms of rendering justice. This year's sponsorships will cover a number of conference events and help keep our registration fees reasonable and affordable for our participants and tribes. This year's conference will attract over 200 attendees who will hear from Senator Byron L. Dorgan, United States Senator from North Dakota and Chairman of the Senate Indian Affairs Committee, (invited) or designee as our keynote speaker.
One of the most important functions is our opening reception the night before our conference begins. The reception is very popular with our participants as it allows them to network and touch base with their peers and colleagues from across the country. Our reception sponsor is prominently displayed through signage as a sponsor during the reception, and a short presentation by our sponsor is allowed, if requested in advance, and of course, we acknowledge all our sponsors in our Conference Program and during opening ceremonies. This year's opening reception sponsorship is $3000.
In addition, as our conference attendance has grown, our entertainment costs have grown as well. Our evening entertainment centers around a traditional meal and dances. Signage will acknowledge our sponsor and will be recognized in our Conference Program. This year's evening food and dance sponsorship is $3000.
Our conference participants have enjoyed receiving a conference bag to carry conference materials during the conference. A sponsor's logo, along with NAICJA's, will be imprinted on the conference tote bags indicating your sponsorship of this item. Conference bag sponsorship is $2500.
A number of smaller, but equally important coffee break sponsorships are available during our morning and afternoon sessions; the morning break is $2500 and mid-morning and afternoon breaks are $2000 each. Again, your sponsorship will be acknowledged in our Conference Program, during the break and each session.
If you are unable to help us through a sponsorship or donation, we offer you an opportunity to help us through the purchase of an advertisement in our beautiful Conference Program. The Conference Program is a color publication containing an agenda, welcoming letters and presenter biographies. Ads are available for full, half, quarter and 1/8 sizes. The prices are $500 for a full page; $300 for a half page; $200 for a quarter page, and $100 for a business card advertisement.
On behalf of NAICJA's Board of Directors and our member judges, we express our sincerest gratitude for you support and willingness to help us make this year's conference a success.
