NAICJA's Judges Training Judges: Tribal Child Support Enforcement Grant Writing Albuquerque, New Mexico * April 16, 2005
Pursuant to the Final Rule on Tribal Child Support Enforcement IV-D Programs (45 CFR Part 309, March 30, 2004), tribes may apply to the United States Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Child Support Enforcement (OCSE), for grants to fund the operation of start-up Tribal Child Support Enforcement Programs as well as full-service Tribal Child Support Enforcement Programs. The National American Indian Court Judges Association is sponsoring an intensive one-day Tribal IV-D Grant Writing Workshop for tribes interested in establishing or enhancing their own Tribal IV-D Child Support Enforcement Program.
The workshop will focus on the operations and funding process for Tribal Child Support Enforcement Programs, pursuant to the Final Rule. Learn what it takes to prepare and submit a competitive proposal, including what tribal information is critical, what case statistics are required, and how to write a start-up development plan in preparation for a full service program. Each participant will receive a Tribal Profile Workbook and a Grant Writing Workbook created by the National Tribal Justice Resource Center, which will demonstrate how to comply with each section of the new regulations.
